RSMD WATER USE LETTER

April 2026

Dear Ruedi Shores Homeowners:

We hope that everyone enjoyed the Winter season. This winter was the lowest snow fall year we have seen in decades with record high temperatures. We would like to at this time ask for all homeowners’ cooperation in keeping water usage to a minimum. As a reminder, the allotted water per home is 25,000 gallons per quarter.

We have been given the recommendation by our water engineers to enforce water restrictions. We are asking that all homeowner’s refrain from planting new trees, annuals, no watering of lawns or sod. Please check all of your plumbing (toilets etc.) for running or leaks. If you are not going to be in residence, please turn off your water.

This is for precaution as we wait for the final thawing and take account of water production of our springs.

We would also like to remind homeowners that there are HOA bylaws restricting landscaping, irrigation and ADU’s. You can be fined and told to remove the landscaping, irrigation and any appliances that would make an ADU. If we could keep water use this season and into the future for necessary use only that will help the spring water tables recover from dry winter seasons.

Our springs, well and water sheds are monitored and managed by an engineering company which the board meets with regularly. We have and always will keep you informed on the website or via email from Marchetti & Weaver LLC. Attached is an accounting of daily water use so that everyone is aware of the amount of water used.

This is a year where everyone needs to be on guard with both water use and fire danger. We live in a rural area where we must be diligent and self sufficient so that we keep our property, family and neighbor’s safe.
